National Conference on: Intercultural Communication in the Digital Age November 3‐4, 2015
Abstract
The conference will focus on the Algerian non-native speakers of English communicating with each other and across cultures in the virtual world. Cyberspace platforms are used in education, economy, politics and many other fields due to the constant revolution in the digital technologies that are accessible throughout the globe bringing changes to individuals’ lives, identities, rights and duties. Online contact with the outside world can set digital conditions that may limit one’s freedom in certain areas or provide a new range of information processing that would enhance and influence the community members’ lives. The internet is a good medium of cultural exchange that is at the fingertips of any user, a fact that allows people of different backgrounds to interact, share opinions and learn about various cultural values. Therefore, the conference aims at promoting the sharing of experiences and knowledge by professionals and experts in the field of English Language communication in the digital age.
