The University May 8, 1945 GUELMA, has 4 university campuses each of which has a unit of preventive medicine (U.M.P) except that of Heliopolis.

The main mission of these U.M.P is to ensure the health and well-being of the university community.

The health coverage of resident students is ensured by the U.M.P implanted within each university residence.

Roles of preventive medicine units
It is essentially preventive:

- Health coverage of students through medical visits (admission, systematic, spontaneous see medical-sports)

- Staff health coverage (hiring, systematic, spontaneous and return to work medical visits)

-Hygiene and sanitation control particularly blocks of accommodation and catering.

-Health education of the university community (IEC); sexually transmitted diseases / AIDS, water-borne diseases, drug addiction, smoking and other public health problems.

-Vaccination of students (DT, Measles, Hepatitis ...)
